Sarah, 2019 - from my upcoming body of work 'Sub tilia'

A portrait series about identity, sense of belonging and home within german communities with a vivid or past 'Tanzlinden' (dancing lime tree) culture.
„To be modern is to find ourselves in an environment that promises us adventure, power, joy, growth, transformation of ourselves and the world – and, at the same time, that threatens to destroy everything we have, everything we know, everything we are. […] But it is a paradoxical unity, a unity of disunity: it pours us all into a maelstrom of perpetual disintegration and renewal, of struggle and contradiction, of ambiguity and anguish.“
Marshall Berman: All That Is Solid Melts Into Air. The Experience of Modernity.
New York: Penguin, 1988

For this portrait series I am currently looking for young girls and women aged 12 to 25 years within these communities. Please contact me if you want to be a part and share your story.
